Last Thursday, our staff took part in an Occupational Health and Safety training day delivered by Construction Safety Nova Scotia. This training package was won by one of our Councillors at last year's Fall Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities Conference and AGM.
During the session, we learned about the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act and how it applies to real-life workplace situations. We also discussed the important role of a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in keeping workplaces safe. An excellent reminder of the health and safety resources available to us and how to use them to follow best practices.
